The not so obvious weave extensions and razor cut ends...

With this particular client of mine I added some length that she wanted to her hair by adding extensions that didn't scream "weave, weave, weave!" from miles away....

She wanted length without it looking obvious...

...so as you can see from the side and back view, my client ended up with a sleek look, coupled with enough of her own hair matching the extensions nicely.

I razor cut her ends so they were wispy and soft....

...and we ended up with a nice blend of thick, luxurious black hair aided by a few track extensions in the back.

Her style is polished and naturally straight-looking with soft, face cradling bangs in the front that taper down the side.

The color of her own hair blends in well.

Ready, set, go.

Before and after pics of pressed hair and bumped ends

Many of us can relate to the "before" stage -- after a good washing and conditioning and blow drying -- but before the African-American thick and beautiful and lustrous hair is straightened using some means of heat styling.

For this particular client, you can see I pressed this "before" state of her hair with my flat irons and bumped her ends to give them a nice sheen and curl at the ends...

So my client went from looking like this...

...to these after pictures of my client.

The before picture shows dry and unruly hair now hair is silky smooth and shiny after a good flat iron straightening.

This photo shows the before pics of beautiful, strong and curly black hair on a child:

And here's the after photo once I flat-ironed the hair straight:

Again, here's another before photo of curly and thick hair:

And one more after picture of the flat-ironed hair:

Relaxed style on Jennie

Here's another relaxed style I created recently on my customer, Jennie.

As you can see, Jennie's style is strong and relaxed, with no highlights in her hair.

Harder to see on the other side (check back for more pics of more styles) are Jennie's bangs in the front.

I created a blunt-cut type of razor-edged style without using razors, but actual scissors.

Jennie works in a professional corporate environment, so this hairstyle suits her life well.

Looks for fall

Well now that fall has hit us once again I know alot of you are looking for that new fall look! Natural colors such as browns are always safe. Warmer colors such as reds or wine colors are always good for fall as well. Reds are the hardest colors to keep in your hair so be sure to take home color care shampoo and conditioner. Soft highlights along with you color gives you movement definition and depth that always compliments your style. To add shine ask your stylist about what they suggest for this. You can get a clear toner after your color is done. This also helps keep you color longer than usual!! Ask your stylist for her professional opinion on what colors would look best for you. Your skin tone may not compliment the color you are wishing to get. If you desire a certain cut bring in a photo to give your stylist a base to start from. Your hair texture, thickness and plays a big part in your cut so keep that in mind when you are looking for a new look. Styles are more sleek and straight! Softer curls on the ends are also in. Center parts or slight off center parts are popular as well. Good luck with your fall do!!! Have fun with it! Email me with questions!!
